Professor Bryce Barker

Bryce has particular expertise in Australian pre-European Aboriginal archaeology generally and Australian Holocene maritime hunter-gatherer societies specifically. His contribution to the project is as a generalist bringing a deep understanding of Aboriginal lifeways both past and present to the interpretation of the Jawoyn archaeological record and relating this to the contemporary community through his long experience working with communities.  He also has at his direction an archaeological laboratory in which material from the project will be sorted and analysed.
